Stress Relief Management – Secret to Eliminating Stress

November 29th, 2009

Do You Want to Know Why Most Stress Relief Management Guides are Wrong and How You Can Completely Eliminate Stress?

Hi, my name is Anthony and I used to be a stress head seeking an answer perhaps like you are now.

If you are also tired of being controlled and run down by stress, anxiety and even depression then I hope you keep reading because I have been through the same problems but eventually came out the other side stress free and healthy and I might be able to help you do the same.

If you don’t want to know about my story and just want a solution click here

You see, I once had a life controlled by my stress. I worked a stressful and busy job, I was a single father and I also had problems in saying no so kept adding more and more to my plate and then exploding at people. Workmates, my children and even women I was dating …. it was awful and it was taking a toll on my health as I started getting sick more often and felt I just was not coping.

I needed an answer to my stress problems!

I started researching ways to manage stress. I went through book after book and website after website trying different things and while some worked, they did not give a lasting solutions. The others did not work at all …

I was at my wits end and up to my armpits with books on affirmations, meditation, positive thinking and some others I can only call voodoo pseudoscience. Why was it that with all of these ways to manage stress I was becoming more stressed because none of them cured the problem but only gave short term relief (I still meditate mind you and encourage that.)

I needed a permanent solution.

I was about to give up and go to a therapy because I thought it must be a problem with me. How strange that was partly right … however I never made it to a therapist because I stumbled onto a website that changed my life. This site said that all of those other stress relief management books were not treating the root cause of the stress and my experiences had proved this correct. I was intrigued and downloaded a copy of this guide immediately (at 2am in the morning in fact …).

This was an eye opening experience to say the least …

So much conventional wisdom was proven quite false to me through this guide because hardly any of them focused on the root cause of the problem of stress which does not start at the point of stress. The root problem most people have with stress and anxiety lies within themselves and the behaviors we have drilled into ourselves over the years that we no longer even see are a part of the problem!

See what else this guide to conquering stress has to say about these things here

After a few weeks of following the advice of this guide and some very helpful emails from the author (another bonus, the author answers emails personally in a few days if you have questions.) I started to see a tremendous improvement in my stress levels and how I dealt with stressful situations. My health also improved remarkable and I no longer felt I was letting my boys down by being an overly stressed father.

The only thing I did not like was there was nothing on meditation really which I believe can be helpful not just to relieve stress but also to help you in many aspects of life. However this was not a big deal as I already have a multitude of books on meditation and you don’t NEED it to be totally stress and anxiety free.

Anyway, now I feel like I can handle everything life can throw at me and I feel in control which used to be such a foreign feeling but is now the norm. So if you are sick of band aid cures and stress relief that does not stick and eventually has you taring your heair out again I highly recommend you check this guide out called “Conquering Stress” which I guarantee will help you overcome any stress you have as it did for me.

Stress Relief Exercises – 3 Exercises to Relieve Stress

November 25th, 2009

Exercise is essential for your health but also to become less stressed. Stress relief exercises should therefore be incorporated into your daily routines to help you manage your stress levels and improve your health which can be adversely effected by too many stressful situations.

Here are 3 of my favorite stress relief exercises:

  • Stretching – You can stretch anywhere which is why I like this so much. At the office, in the field or at home a good stretch is very beneficial to lowering stress. This is because stretching can relax tightened muscle and promote blood flow but also because it actually stimulates receptors in the nervous system that decrease the production of stress hormones
  • Aerobic Exercise - A little harder to do regularly but the effects of getting your heart pumping for just 15 minutes a day even is good for you. Walking is the safest method to get your system working again but my favorite was running up and down the fire stairs at work during lunch which helped a great deal (especially if i did not feel like talking to those who were stressing me!). The release of endorphins from exercise make you feel good and you will find yourself less stressed then before.
  • Yoga – This is a combination of stretching and aerobics so it is an excellent combination for stress relief! It is perhaps not as convenient but when I found I no longer had time to attend a regular yoga class I got a mat and a yoga DVD and did it in my own time when I could. This can work for you too at all fitness levels.

Try incorporating some stress relief exercises into your day and you will find your body less tense and your mind less stressed and anxious. This will not treat the underlying root causes of stress in your life but they do help relieve stress.

To fix your stress problems forever you need to address the root problems though. Click here to find out how you can do this.

Stress Management Techniques – 3 Daily Rituals to Reduce Stress

November 25th, 2009

Having a few regular stress management techniques that you can apply daily when you are stressed can be a life saver! I know I had a few favorite and quick ways to get my mind and body into a less stressful place that I used every day nearly when I worked in a high stress position at a newspaper.

Here are my 3 rituals for stress relief management I hope you find useful too.

1. Stress Journal

Writing has always been a hobby of mine and the written word is something I have a love for. I used this to my advantage by keeping a stress diary.

I wrote down what stressed me at the end of a day, how it made me feel both physically and emotionally as well as how i reacted in response. It is amazing how much insight you can gain from writing this stuff down and also from rereading it a few days later or a few weeks later even. It forces you to re-evaluate the stress factors and your own reactions to it which helps you take ownership of the stress rather than feeling out of control.

Make writing in this diary a ritual every day.

2. Diet Changes

Every day I had a ritual that would involve looking critically at what I ate. I had a diet of fast food and alcohol and I smoked at one point which my dietitian friend said was not only unhealthy but also added to stress physically.

I would make at least one change for the better every day and would add it to my stress diary. Quitting that extra spoonful of sugar in my coffee one day and keepiong it gone. Reducing my smoking by a cigarette a day until I finally quit and many other things that led me to a better diet and lifestyle.

My fitness and health levels raised and I was able to cope with stress a lot better too.

3. Deep Breathing

It is amazing just how much stress relief you get from taking a 5 minute break to meditate and breath deeply.

Depending on how stressful your life might be and how busy you are make sure to put aside 5-10 minutes every few hours if needed whether you are stressed or not to just close your eyes and relax while breathing slowly and deeply. This can be followed by more advanced meditation techniques but to begin with this is a helpful ritual that becomes a part of your stress management routine.

I used to just sit in a bathroom stall sometimes if I had no other place to go and do this and while the surroundings were hardly optimal you had never seen a greater transformation than me going into a bathroom and out than if you saw Clark Kent change to superman in a phone booth!

These methods allowed me to mange my stress levels but I did not completely fix my stress and how I handled stress until I read a guide called Conquering Stress which I highly recommend.

What is Stress Relief Management

November 25th, 2009

Stress is a huge part of most peoples lives coming from work, family and society in general. Stress relief management is something everyone needs to have a grounding in therefore to make sure this does not overwhelm you and stop you living your life to its fullest potential.

Everyone does this to a degree instinctively and everyone has their own methods to reduce stress but a proper stress management and relief system is something that those under very high levels of stress need to have not only to make their life easier but also to improve mental AND physical health. This is because chronic stress can lead to mental disorders such as anxiety and depression amongst others and is also responsible for more physical effects such as lowering the immune system making it easier to get sick.

That being said, just what is a stress relief management system?

Basically it is a concentrated and regular effort to reduce the stress in your life using a combination of methods that you will fit into your daily and weekly schedules to cope with and eliminate stress.

My personal favorite is scheduled and even impromptu meditation but stress relief activities and cognitive exercises to “own” your stress and other tips and tricks are also very helpful. InĀ  the end you must find the right thing for you but you must implement it in a structured fashion to get the most out of it.
